WE WILL CONTINUE TO REWARD HARDWORK - GOV ALIYU

The Chief Servant and Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has restated government’s determination to always support, encourage and reward people who have excelled in their fields of endeavour and have contributed positively to the progress and development of the State.

Governor Aliyu made this assertion at the official presentation of gifts of 24 motorcycles to the Chanchaga Local Government football team that recently did the State proud by winning the Chief Servant’s Cup. He said motivating people will always encourage them to do more and also spur others to attain remarkable feat in their chosen areas.

While appreciating the efforts of the local government for rewarding the team, the Chief Servant also commended it for recognizing the traditional institution by presenting a motorcycle to each of the eleven Village Heads in the council to meet their transportation challenges. The Governor stated that the overall essence of government is to make life meaningful for everyone particularly those who can not help themselves. He expressed happiness that Chanchage Local Government is doing well in this regard.

 He said by encouraging people and rewarding excellence, it will discourage those involved in all sorts of social vices and make them abandone their ways for a better and morally acceptable behaviour. Gov. Aliyu also laid the foundation stone for the construction of legislators’ chambers of the local government.

In a brief interview with journalists, Governor Aliyu expressed happiness with the level of achievement recorded and congratulated the Chanchaga Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Yakubu Sallau for the giant stride. “I am always happy whenever I see signs of development, and I am happy that all these things are happening during our time. That is what God has done for us and we keep thanking Him for it. For the road construction done by P.Z., it is what you can call enlightened self interest. A private sector entity in your community making money and also bringing back that money to also enhance your life so that you can buy more of its products. What you have seen today is encouraging people to really participate actively”, he further stressed.

Gov. Aliyu expressed delight with the conceptualization of the Chanchaga Local Government legislator’s chambers which he believed is being executed to suite the nature of the capital city that the local government represents. He said all the remaining local government councils are expected to do the same.

Earlier, the Chairman of Chanchaga Local Government, Alhaji Yakubu Sallau described sports as a veritable tool for the socio-economic development of the nation. He assured that the council will continue to recognize and reward hardwork stressing that the victory of the football team has greatly brought honours to the local government in particular and the state in general.

Alhaji Yakubu Sallau thanked the Chief Servant for creating the enabling environment for the success and assured of his council’s unflinching loyalty to the administration of Governor Aliyu.

Responding on behalf of the awardees, the Chief Coach of the team, Mr. Anthony Alohan, thanked the Chief Servant for his administration’s commitment to youth and sports development, and prayed that God continues to guide and protect him now and always. He also called on the Chanchaga Local Government to establish sports committees which he argued will further ensure the winning of more trophies.
