NGSG, IRISH INVESTORS TO CO-OPERATE

Niger State Government has signified its intention and readiness to partner with Irish investors in the areas of energy, city redesigning and urban renewal.

Speaking to a delegation of Irish businessmen and investors led by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ireland, Dr. (Mrs) Kema Chikwe, who came on a courtesy call in Minna, the Chief Servant and Governor of the State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, said Government is interested and willing to support any investor that is ready to add value in the effort to develop the State.

He assured the delegation that the Government will do whatever is required of it to fast-track the investment opportunities offered by the Irish investors for mutual benefit. “Ours is a place to come to and do business. We are friendly, enlightened and would co-operate to ensure that our State develops so that we can also leave footprints for posterity”, the Chief Servant said.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Kema Chikwe said the State was chosen because of its abundant natural resources and proximity to the nation’s Federal Capital, Abuja. She said the investors are willing to partner with the State to provide wind, solar energy and wireless electricity for the people.

Ambassador Kema Chikwe said if given the opportunity to invest in Niger State, the Irish investors would turn the State around and that Nigeria would stand to benefit.

One of the Irish business men, Mr. Brian O. Brian said the delegation was in the State to offer hands of partnership and to introduce a new kind of business orientation, design services and master planning as well as technical services to clients.
